Mic Cuts Out During U.S. “National Anthem”, Watch The Canadian Reaction That Brings The House Down
You can’t bring up the topic of the national anthem without being reminded of the controversy surrounding the NFL, and its players choice of kneeling.
While some say that the players are protesting a host of issues within our country, others believe that choosing to “take a knee” is disrespectful to the men and women who serve in branches of the military.
As the NFL continues to make an issue out of the Star Spangled Banner, it’s refreshing to see the anthem unite thousands of people together for a couple of minutes. This is exactly what happened in Canada prior to the start of an NHL game.
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Nashville Predators were set to square off in Toronto, and as is customary before every game the teams lined up for the Canadian and American national anthems. As the singer began to sing America’s anthem, the mic cut out. That’s when the mostly Canadian crowd stepped in.
Without missing a beat, the crowd helped the singer finish the song in what turned out to be a truly incredible, unifying moment.
Whatever side of the issue you find yourself, you’ll have a hard time not getting chills watching this.
