Leann Rimes Powerful Performance Of “The National Anthem” Will Take Your Breath Away
At just 13 years old, Leann Rimes became one of the youngest country music stars in the genre’s history following the release of her chart topping album Blue.
Since then, the Rimes has gone on to win two Grammy Awards, as well as numerous other accolades including the 2009 Academy of Country Music’s Humanitarian Award.
Rimes has made philanthropy a huge par of her life, working with groups such as the Make a Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and Stand Up to Cancer, as well as several others.
One of her most notable performances came a few years ago when the NCAA Final Four took place in her home state of Texas.
Before a packed crowd at Houston’s Reliant Energy Stadium, Rimes belted out one of the most beautiful renditions of The Star Spangled Banner prior to the championship game between Butler and the University of Connecticut.
It’s hard not to feel a sense of unity, and patriotism as the song plays, but that’s kind of the purpose as to why we play it at huge public gatherings. We may not all be showing up to cheer for the same team, but we all share the common bond of being Americans.
