Fire Chief Spots Bald Eagle Land On 9/11 Display, His Reaction Goes Viral

September 11th is an incredibly significant day for Americans, even 17 years after the terror attacks that took place across the country.

While there are events going on all over the nation honoring the lives lost on that tragic day, what happened today in Coon Rapids, Minnesota is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

During a ceremony for the victims of 9/11, the Andover Fire Department- along with several other local fire departments- placed an American Flag on top of an aerial truck. Then the unthinkable happened.

As those in attendance began a moment of silence, a bald eagle perched itself next to the American flag.

“Isn’t that unbelievable?!” Andover Fire Chief Jerry Streich said in a video posted to the department’s Facebook page. “Phenomenal.”

“There’s no better symbol to represent America today than a flag but then for an eagle to land on a fire truck holding a flag, I mean, it doesn’t get much more symbolic than that.”

Streich said that he couldn’t believe his own eyes at first, but after doing a double (then triple) take, he realized that he needed to get the moment on video.

Since this morning, Steich’s video had been viewed over 600,000 times, and shared by more than 11,000 people.

Check out this amazing moment, and try not to get chills.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more symbolic American moment than this. God bless America.
