Biden Makes Jokes About Inappropriate Touching

In Politics, it’s never really much of a shock when scandal surrounds political figures. Here lately former Vice President Joe Biden has found himself in middle of some really serious accusations.

There has been a number of women that have come forward at an astonishing rate of one per day. Seven women came forward with accusations over the course of seven days. Now that’s impressive.

Joe Biden finally made an attempt to tackle the issue directly on Wednesday. Biden posted a video statement where he described his handling of women as an attempt to make a “human connection” and pledged to change his behavior amid shifting “social norms.”

After this Biden tried to make light of accusations as a different approach towards resolving the situation. Nothing better than cracking jokes about a serious accusations against yourself. Really…

Biden even took to Twitter to make a statement.

Biden took to a stage for an event hosted by the “International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers”. After the President of the association, Lonnie Stephenson, introduced Joe Biden, both the two men hugged on stage. Afterwards, Biden took to the podium while the audience was applauding him.

Briden opened up by saying: “Whoa! It’s good to be home! This may go to my head. Thank you, thank you. You know, as they say in my old neighborhood in Scranton, you guys have ‘brung me to the dance.'”

Trying to make light of everything going on, Biden took advantage of the situation and decided to crack some jokes, though probably not the best decision. “I just want you to know I had permission to hug Lonnie…I had permission…” Shockingly, the crowd actually laughed and started to applaud. Nice to see some people find these serious accusations so funny.

Even worse, Biden thought it was a good idea to crack jokes about it once again, only this time using a young child to do so. He introduced a group of children to the stage, then Biden put his arm around one of the young boys. “By the way, he gave me permission to touch him,” I’m glad he finds all this so humorous.

Biden also went on talking to reporters on Friday, where he said he’s “not sorry” for anything he’s done, though he is sorry for failing to “understand more.”

Biden said: “I’m sorry I didn’t understand more.I’m not sorry for any of my intentions. I’m not sorry for anything that I have ever done. I have never been disrespectful intentionally to a man or a woman. So that’s not the reputation I’ve had since I was in high school, for god’s sakes….The fact of the matter is I made it clear that if I made anyone feel (uncomfortable), I feel badly about that. It was never my intention. Ever.”

Biden took to Twitter once more in a statement to talk about what is happening. Biden stated: “I’ve always tried to make a human connection; that’s my responsibility, I think. I shake hands; I hug people; I grab men and women by the shoulders and say, ‘You can do this.’ Whether they’re women, men, young, old, it’s the way I’ve always been; it’s the way I’ve tried to show I care about them and I’m listening.”

“I’ve always thought about connecting with people. As I said, shaking hands, hands on the shoulder, a hug, encouragement. Now it’s all about taking selfies together; social norms have begun to change, they’ve shifted, and the boundaries of protecting personal space have been reset, and I get it. I get it; I hear what they’re saying. I understand it and I’ll be much more mindful; that’s my responsibility. My responsibility and I’ll meet it.”
