Texas Representative Responds to Beto, “My AR is Ready For You”

Last night there was yet another Democratic debate in Houston, Texas, and Beto O’Rourke continues to advocate for taking American’s rights away.

O’Rourke has pushed for a ban on the possession of AR-15’s and “certain military-style rifles” after the mass shooting last month in his home town of El Paso, Texas. Specifically, he has called for a mandatory government buyback of AR-15s, saying “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15.”

Briscoe Cain, a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, caused Twitter to go into an uproar. After Beto O’Rourke restated his plan for a mandatory confiscation of AR-15’s and “military-style” weapons in the US, Cain tweeted his reaction saying “My AR is ready for you Robert Francis”.

“My AR is ready for you Robert Francis”

Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke claimed that this post was “a death threat” and added that this is why people like Representative Cain “shouldn’t own an AR-15” tweeting:

And within hours, Twitter removed Cain’s post, with a spokesperson from the company saying “It violates our rules for threats of violence,” adding that “You may not threaten violence against an individual or a group of people.” But, is this really a threat of violence? Briscoe Cain obviously did not think so.

Cain’s supporters ran to his defense, claiming this obviously was not a death threat but that the Texas Representative was simply restating the old saying “come and take it.”

After O’Rourke claimed that this was a death threat, which his campaign actually reported to the FBI, Cain had a simple response:

Beto, along with many other democrats on stage last night, are pushing for American rights to be diminished and demolished. Law abiding citizens have the human right to protect themselves and for that protection to be legal. When rights like gun ownership are illegal then only the criminals who were already breaking the law will have the guns. This, in no way makes us safer as a country. Responsible gun-ownership saves lives, end of story.
