President Trump Praises Texas Hero For Stopping Church Shooting

On Sunday a gunman opened fire inside of a church in the Fort Worth suburb of White Settlement, Texas, killing two people before he was taken out by 71-year old former reserve deputy Jack Wilson.

Countless lives were saved that day, as Wilson even acknowledged that the shotgun the gunman was using would’ve hurt a lot of people had he not stepped up and taken him out.

“The events at West Freeway Church of Christ put me in a position that I would hope no one would have to be in, but evil exists and I had to take out an active shooter in church,” Wilson said in a Facebook post. “I’m thankful to GOD that I have been blessed with the ability and desire to serve him in the role of head of security at the church. I am very sad in the loss of two dear friends and brothers in CHRIST, but evil does exist in this world and I and other members are not going to allow evil to succeed.”

Upon hearing the news of what had happened in Texas, President Trump took to twitter to commend Wilson on his act of bravery in the face of danger.

“Armed congregants quickly stopped a crazed church shooter in Texas,” the president said. “If it were not for the fact that there were people inside of the church that were both armed, and highly proficient in using their weapon, the end result would have been catastrophic. A big THANK YOU to them!”

No matter what law we make, it won’t prevent evil people from doing evil things. The solution to stopping evil isn’t taking away a good guy’s weapon. Jack Wilson just proved why it pays to be a well-trained gun owner. When seconds, tenths of seconds, counted, he was there.

Gun-grabbing liberals would have preferred it if these people were left defenseless until police could arrive, but Texans know better.

Pray for our country, and those who lost their lives in the senseless acts of violence that occurred over the weekend.
