Adam Schiff Walks Back On Impeachment, “I want to discuss this with my constituents”

Adam Schiff is being praised by the LA Times for remaining “calm” as the impeachment report is being written, but he isn’t “calm” enough to say whether or not he intends to push impeachment through the House.

“The evidence is already overwhelming,” Schiff said on CNN’s State of the Union. “The facts are really not contested. It’s really not contested what the president did.”

Schiff is so confident that he’s “got Trump”, and yet, he refuses to say outright whether or not he intends to pursue impeachment following the public hearings, and impending fallout of support.

While claiming that there’s so much “evidence” and “facts,” Schiff just can’t bring himself to make a decision on his own.

“I want to discuss this with my constituents and colleagues before I make a final judgment on this,” Schiff said, following literally two weeks of talking to constituents and colleagues in public. “I certainly think that the evidence has been produced overwhelmingly shows serious misconduct from the president. I certainly want to hear more from my constituents and more from my colleagues.”

“At the end of the day, this is a decision about whether the Founding Fathers had in mind this kind of misconduct when they gave Congress this remedy. And I have to think that this is very much central to what they were concerned about, that is an unethical man or woman takes that office, uses it for their personal political gain. If that wasn’t what the founders had in mind, it’s hard to imagine what they did.”

Schiff believes that the evidence is so overwhelming that he has to ask other people to make sure they agree. That’s not exactly what “overwhelming” means, but Schiff knows this. He knows he’s been caught, and is aware of the risks he faces when he’s ultimately called as a witness in a Senate trial.

Democrats know the public is losing interest in impeachment, but giving up on it assuredly labels them as “failures” going into 2020.

There is no win for the left.
