CNN Host Has Anti-Trump Meltdown When GOP Guest Humiliates Her On Live TV Interview
During an interview with former White House Chief Of Staff during the Bush admin, John Sununu, CNN’s Alisyn Camerota went on an angry rant after she tried to pressure Sununu to comment on Trump’s response to John McCain’s passing.
Sununu was on the show to talk about the life and legacy of McCain but he refused to denounce President Trump and his criticism of CNN when pressured all of the sudden on the issue.
Camerota went off topic and asked Sununu about a Washington Post report claiming Trump rejected plans to release a White House statement honoring McCain. This report is not true as a statement was officially released.
“That was printed in the Washington Post. And I have to be honest with you, I don’t give much credence to what I read—” Sununu said before being rudely cut off by the CNN anchor.
Camerota instantly replied, “We also have that reporting.”.
Sununu fired back saying, “Yeah, well, same thing applies, Alisyn.”.
That’s when a heated exchange began between the two. Sununu manages to keep calm but CNN host Camerota becomes rude and visibly angry.
“Governor, you come on CNN, and we appreciate you coming on CNN and we appreciate your take on it. But I don’t appreciate you denigrating our reporting,” she said. “We have excellent reporters here.”
Sununu refused to take the hostile bait from CNN and replied.
“You asked me to come on to talk about John McCain. I’m here to talk about John McCain as I remember him. I’m not here to talk about the press’s handling of a difference between the White House and the press corps at this time,” he said.
Camerota tried to keep pressuring and that’s when Sununu had to be very blunt in his response.
Well, I’m here to talk about my friend John McCain. You appear to be here to talk about something you can exploit, and I find that rather unpleasant”.
CNN was clearly out of line and it did not take long for the internet to go after CNN and Camerota.

If anyone at CNN had the ability to feel shame, there would be widespread embarrassment at the network for this atrocious interview by Alisyn Camerota. It's beyond parody. https://t.co/cPKsAIappl

Bethany Mandel said, “This is disgusting. He was asked to come on to remember his friend and then treated like shit for disagreeing with their editorial decisions”.
She’s right. CNN was so wrong.
