13-Year-Old Forgets Words To National Anthem, The Crowds Reaction Will Send Chills Down Your Spine

Forgetting the words to a song is something that happens to all of us, but when we do it we usually aren’t performing in front of thousands of people.

That was the experience for 13-year old Lauralie Mufute while singing the National Anthem before an NHL game in New Jersey.

The young lady was performing a beautiful rendition of The Star Spangled Banner, when all of a sudden her mind went blank.

Although she was a bit shaken at first, Lauralie went back and restarted from where she left off, but she still couldn’t remember the words.

That’s when the crowd stepped in, and turned what could’ve been an awkward moment into something truly special for all in attendance.

Lauralie says she was “thrown off” at first, but was very thankful the crowd helped out.

What is most impressive about this young woman is her attitude about messing up. When asked about the experience Lauralie says that “I fell, but I have to keep moving.”

Moments like this are what we need to celebrate, and share. This is what unity looks like.

Maybe I should start watching more hockey!
