Trump Suddenly Cancels Congressional Picnic, Sends Food to Group of Americans Who Deserve It More
There is currently a huge immigration debacle going on and lots of fighting in Washington through the doors of Congress. Because of this disaster President Trump decided to cancel the congressional White House picnic as he said, “it just doesn’t feel right”.
“I was just walking over to the Oval Office and I said, ‘You know, it doesn’t feel right to have a picnic for Congress when we’re working on doing something very important,’” Trump said Wednesday, according to Politico. “It didn’t feel exactly right to me.”
The President’s administration has been taking a lot of heat over his decision to use a “zero tolerance” immigration policy that unexpectedly resulted in children being separated from their parents at the southern border of United States.
Now the question comes up, where does all the food go?
The food was already being prepared and now all the Steak, veggies and sides need to have somewhere to go. One person said they could smell it all across town.
Another asked where was it all going to go?
President Trump’s answer?
In a statement President Trump said that all the food will be served Friday for lunch at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The food will be given to patients, caregivers, and employees at the Warrior and Family Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
“All perishables donated to Walter Reed. Non perishables to be repurposed for future events,” Stephanie Grisham, spokeswoman for first lady Melania Trump, said.
