“Guardians Of Galaxy” Cast Respond To Firing Of Director James Gunn Over Controversial Tweets
‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ director James Gunn, an outspoken anti-Trump Liberal was suddenly fired from the movie series this week after disturbing old Tweets were exposed. Many responded but it’s Chris Pratt’s Tweet that is going viral.
Many speculate the Tweets were exposed because of Gunn’s anti-Trump stance and someone wanted to bring him down. Looks like it worked.
Mission accomplished. Gunn has long been a provocateur who has drawn ire in the past for his unusual humor. Among the tweets that forced Disney and Marvel’s hand were: “I like when little boys touch me in my silly place.”
Another Tweet said: “The best thing about being raped is when you’re done being raped and it’s like ‘whew this feels great, not being raped!’” There were others that made satirical comments about the 9/11 attack, AIDS and the Holocaust. Yet another described a monkey masturbating on a young child, and his commentary that it made him “extremely happy.” These missives were not funny and entirely disturbing, given a preoccupation with fetishing underage boys. That left him a sitting duck for his retroactive social media commentary.
Disney reacted swiftly and fired Gunn. Then made the following statement.
“The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him,” said Alan Horn, Walt Disney Studios chairman, in a statement just released.
Liberals have been getting away with disturbing Tweets while conservatives seem to be fired instantly. It’s good to see Disney take quick and decisive action.
When news was announced some of the ‘Galaxy’ stars took posted their reactions on Twitter to seemingly defend him, But it’s Chris Pratt’s reaction that is going viral.
Dave Bautista was defensive.
I will have more to say but for right now all I will say is this..@JamesGunn is one of the most loving, caring, good natured people I have ever met. He’s gentle and kind and cares deeply for people and animals. He’s made mistakes. We all have. Im NOT ok with what’s happening to him

Zoe Saldana took the classy approach.
It’s been a challenging weekend I’m not gonna lie. I’m pausing myself to take everything in before I speak out of term. I just want everyone to know I love ALL members of my GOTG family. Always will.

But Chris Pratt, never one to shy away from a biblical reference despite being in Liberal Hollywood, made a subtle reference in a Sunday afternoon tweet.
“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters. Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.”
