Preston Sharp, a 12-year-old from Redding, California is know for being a young man who is going places. At tonights SOTU speech he will be honored by President Trump for an act of respect towards our Soldiers that many people do not take time to do these days.
Sharp has been placing miniature American flags on the graves of soldiers since 2015. Preston Sharp was visiting his Grandfather’s grave one day when he noticed other Veterans were not being honored on the same way.
“I knew I wanted to do something, because if it wasn’t for them fighting for us then we wouldn’t be here,”.
Preston tells America that he won’t stop honoring veterans until he can’t bend down anymore. His motto is “We need to honor veterans EVERYDAY and not just on a Holiday.”
The White House said on a statement that: “Today, Preston has organized the placement of more than 40,000 American flags and red carnations on soldiers’ graves.”
Sarah Sanders said that inviting guests is a time honored tradition, and Sharp’s actions have not gone unnoticed by President Trump.
